Who says Andhra Pradesh is a revenue-deficit state going by the amount of funds being splurged by AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on special flights, foreign tours, renovation of his official chambers in Secretariat Hyderabad and Vijayawada as per 'vastu' requirements.
While few hundreds of crores were already spent by Naidu on these things, he is now taking up renovations of his guest house in Undavalli village in Tadepalli mandal in Guntur.
Naidu stays in Lingamaneni guest house on the banks of river Krishna whenever he takes up official duties from Vijayawada.
Government sources said already over Rs 100 crore was spent on this guest house for renovation works, security arrangements and setting up a special helipad in front of the guest house.
New roads were laid around the guest house and fool-proof arrangements and facilities were being provided here, despite being a private guest house.
The guest house still continues to be owned by private persons on which over Rs 100 crore public money was spent.
As this was not enough, the AP government on December 21 released a GO (government order) sanctioning Rs 2.27 crore for lighting up the premises and other electricity related renovation works.
Since the government did not takeover the private building so far, after Naidu shifts to his official residence in new capital Amaravati once it is constructed, it would immensely benefit the owner of the guest house, who can boast of having world-class facilities which no other building has in the district.
