![Right To Voice Their Protest, Not To Violence](https://www.greatandhra.com/newphotos9/ga_politics1611037702.jpeg)
Vijayawada: The violence unleashed by the Kapu community at Tuni was absolutely uncalled for and truly reprehensible.
They are entirely justified in voicing their protest over the alleged inaction of the government in not including them in the BC category, but was is not at all acceptable is the manner in which they behaved there.
How can they set ‘Ratnachal Express’ on fire? There were people travelling in the train: innocent people, men, women, children and babies who had nothing to do with the reservation issue. Apparently, not a thought was spared for their safety.
How can they barge into police stations, beat up policemen and media personnel and destroy everything in sight?
It is a direct challenge to democracy, to civil society. And all this over a demand to be considered as ‘backward’? Definitely, there was nothing forward about the way these people behaved at Tuni.
There is no place in civil society for such kinds of behavior or people.
