In a surprising development, Rajya Sabha member Renuka Chowdhry was on Friday stripped of her AICC spokesperson post.
Her name did not figure in the list of spokespersons released by the AICC in the evening. As such, she would not be representing the party as a panelist on TV channels. According to sources, Renuka lost her post because of her anti-Telengana stand. Apparently, the AICC got repeated complaints from the Telengana Congress leaders against her.
Interestingly, however, official sources said Renuka was not removed, but she herself has been keeping away from the responsibilities for her own reasons. A Telengana Congress MP, however, claimed the decision of the high command could have been prompted by other reasons besides Chowdhry’s position on the bifurcation.
