The Telangana government is carrying out a survey on August 19. For the same, the families are required to submit a long and rather exhaustive list of documents.
A day or two before the actual survey, officials will distribute pamphlets which can be used as a check-list for the D-day.
Once the survey is conducted, there will be another committee that will ratify the documents and confirm that they are original and real.
However, while the government claims that the survey will help them to identify people who can benefit from their schemes; it could pose a variety of problems for the people being surveyed. It could also attract criticism from various quarters.
Meanwhile, here’s the list of documents that need to be readied for survey:
Water connection bills, property tax receipts, LPG connection documents, electricity bills, bank or post office savings account details, Aadhar card, caste certificate, birth certificate, vehicle RC book, pass books, ration cards, voter ids, mobile phone bills, pan card, home registration papers, pensioners’ pass books, BPL home certificates, etc.
Since the list is exhaustive, it would be best if KCR government explains why they need so many details about individuals.
