Eight months into the formation of Telangana, the TRP's of KCR have taken a nosedive thanks to his policies which can at best be termed as irrational. And though he did take up some populist measures such as increment to government employees etc, they did not cut much ice with the general public.
Apparently, KCR holds the media responsible for the negative perception of the TRS government. And with capital intensive programmes such as ‘Mission Kakatiya’ and water grid project about to kick start, he can ill afford any kinds of allegations at this juncture. That was the primary reason behind his decision to ban the media from the Secretariat.
One could argue that the Telangana media personnel would also suffer in the process. That is not the case!
To date, the Telangana media has never reported anything negative on the TRS or the Kalavakuntla family. In fact, ‘Namasthe Telangana’ is owned by KCR along with T-news. Then there are a slew of other Telangana print and electronic channels which act and report like employees of KCR.
The only reason KCR is drawing flak is because his policies are being exposed by the Andhra Media.
Banning them from the Secretariat would be like cutting off their oxygen supply because Secretariat is the place where the action happens.
