If the speculations doing rounds in the media circles are to be believed, former MP and firebrand actress Vijayashanti is likely to get back to her parent party – Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), sooner or later.
Vijayashanti has been in virtual political oblivion for the last two and a half years, ever since she was defeated in the 2014 elections on Congress ticket.
She was earlier a loyal worker of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and was the only MP apart from TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao when the Telangana bill was passed. But after joining the Congress and losing the elections, she was nowhere and almost went out of politics.
However, Vijayashanti was back in the news a couple of days ago, when she visited Chennai to pay homage to AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa who died recently.
She extended her support to Jaya’s close aide Sasikala, who is all set to take over as AIADMK chief. There, she indicated that she might join the BJP, as she was all praise for Modi’s demonetisation move. And there is no other alternative forum for her to get back into politics!
