The entry of Nandamuri Suhasini, granddaughter of legendary actor and former chief minister N T Rama Rao, into the electoral battle in the ongoing assembly elections in Telangana from Kukatpalli constituency on the Telugu Desam Party ticket has generated a lot of curiosity in the political and media circles.
At the same time, almost all the family members of Suhasini – including uncle Nandamuri Balakrishna and brothers Junior NTR and Kalyanram - have extended support to her.
While TDP president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is likely to campaign for her sometime next week, his son Nara Lokesh has also evinced interest in campaigning for her.
However, till now, there was no response from her aunt Daggubati Purandeshwari, former Union minister and now a senior BJP leader. But on Thursday, Purandeshwari extended her blessings to Suhasini.
She told media that her blessings would be always with her niece as Suhasini was her blood relation, though both of them belonged to different political parties.
On the other hand, senior actor Jagapathi Babu also expressed his support to Suhasini. He said that Suhasini was a genuine person, with a lot of interest in serving the people.
“I am sure she will do her job as an MLA with integrity and honesty if she is elected,” he said and urged the people of Kukatpalli constituency to vote her.
