That the Telugu media in Andhra Pradesh supporting Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is displaying more loyal than king attitude was once again evident on Saturday with regard to the resignation of YSR Congress party MLA from Mydukuru in Kadapa district Raghurami Reddy.
The MLA had faxed his resignation to Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao and also send the hard copy through courier. He clearly stated that he was resigning from his assembly membership in protest against the humiliation meted out in the hands of the district officials who were not following any protocol in the official meetings.
He was particularly peeved at the way he was ignored at the function organised in Mydukuru to distribute Ramzan tofa among the poor Muslims.
Though he is the local MLA, the officials ignored him and instead called the local TDP constituency incharge Putta Sudhakar on to the stage.
Insulted over this, Raghurami Reddy sent his resignation to the Speaker, who said he was yet to receive any such letter.
However, ABN Andhra Jyothy channel immediately jumped to conclusion that Raghurami Reddy had resigned from the YSR Congress party, thereby giving a shock to party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
Apparently, the channel thought the MLA was joining the TDP by resigning the party, while the fact was that he had resigned from assembly membership and not the YSRC, protesting against the TDP highhandedness!
