Exhorting the Seemandhra MLAs irrespective of their party lines, Minister S Sailajanath on Friday said that they would make use of all opportunities to prevent the bifurcation process.
Sailajanath found fault with President Pranab Mukherjee for sending the Telangana draft bill without looking into consequences.
“It has some lapses and improper mention of some clauses. So far, we have not seen any such an incident of dividing the State without the consent of the concerned Assembly. The Parliament is supposed to take the consent of the Assembly and then proceed further,” he said.
The minister said Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was on the top of the list of those who were opposing bifurcation process and everyone who was seeking the State be undivided must follow suit.
He also maintained that it is a common phenomenon of following the procedures of the Constitution to discuss the issue of the bifurcation in the Assembly and take its approval.
“And I don’t think there was any such incident wherein Parliament passed Article 3 directly without consulting the State Assembly,” he said.
