A three-member committee appointed by Press Council has submitted its report to the government, wherein it made it clear that it strongly condemns the brash statements made by KCR from time to time.
In the report, the committee said it was not appropriate for him to make such reckless comments.
It further stated that due to KCR’s comments like, ‘padi kilometerla dooramlo patestanu’ have instilled fear in media people and unions.
It clearly stated that KCR must refrain from making such statements in the coming days.
The committee also stated that it was not appropriate for those who have taken oath on Constitution to make such instigating statements.
The fact that some information was being given to select media people based on their nativity was also highlighted. The committee said that such biased behaviour must be stopped immediately.
It also requested the Centre and Press Council to make a note of KCR’s behaviour and react accordingly.
So, let’s hope that KCR will refrain from making such irresponsible statements in coming days. Though KCR hasn’t made any such comments in recent times, the impact of his past acts continues to haunt journalists and media at large.
However, the committee also made it clear that one must spell out any differences they have with media, but it is definitely not correct to intimidate media to have their way.
