For the last few months, there have been speculations in the media circles that popular political strategist Prashant Kishor might be roped in by Telugu Desam Party headed by former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu for the upcoming assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.
But there has been no confirmation or denial from either the party or Kishor. In fact, Kishor is no more associated with Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) which he had founded and is leading an independent political outfit falled Jan Suraj.
At the same time, Naidu had not been in good terms with Prashant Kishor, after he helped the YSR Congress party led by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in the last elections. Even now, the I-PAC headed by Kishor’s erstwhile colleague Rishi Raj Singh is looking after YSRCP’s campaign strategy in AP.
On the other hand, Naidu has engaged Showtime Consulting headed by Kishor’s another former colleague Robbin Sharma for working out the campaign strategies for the TDP in Andhra Pradesh.
Though Naidu was not very happy with Robbin Sharma initially, he has been continuing with him and of late, Sharma team has become very active in designing programmes for the party like Bhavishyattu Ku Guarantee, Yuva Galam etc.
Latest reports, however, suggested that Naidu has been in talks with Prashant Kishor for fine tuning the party’s campaign strategies in the coming days. Both of them got in touch with each other through a common friend and talked about any specific strategies for the TDP.
Kishor reportedly agreed to help out Robbin Sharma team in working out more innovative programmes to take the party campaign deep into the people, including activation of the social media campaign and selection of right candidates, in coordination with Jana Sena Party.
“However, Kishor will not directly involve in the campaign but will only play an advisory role for the TDP,” sources added.
