Prominent political strategist and founder of Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) Prashant Kishor has worked for several major political parties in the country and secured them victory in the elections.
He worked for the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2014 and played a major role in bringing Narendra Modi to power with his innovative campaigning like Chai Pe Charcha.
Later, he worked for Janata Dal (U) leader Nitish Kumar in Bihar and Congress leader Amarinder Singh in Punjab and brought them to power.
Everybody knows how Prashant changed the political dynamics in Andhra Pradesh by working for YSR Congress party leader Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
His “Bye-Bye Babu” campaign worked wonders for Jagan, who won the 2019 assembly elections in AP with a huge mandate, decimating the 37-year-old Telugu Desam Party led by shrewd leader N Chandrababu Naidu.
Most recently, Prashant worked for M K Stalin of DMK in Tamil Nadu and Mamata Banerjee of Trinamul Congress and both of them came to power with stupendous majority.
Soon after the recent elections, Prashant declared that he would no more be working as a political strategist for any political party in the country.
His team, however, would be working for Mamata Banerjee till 2026, as it has been doing for Jagan Mohan Reddy in Andhra Pradesh.
But there are reports that Prashant is not going to sit idle. His recent meeting with Nationalist Congress Party supremo Sharad Pawar led to the speculation that he is definitely up to something.
There was a talk that he is trying to bring together all non-BJP parties together to float a powerful alternative to the BJP by 2024.
At the same time, there were also reports that he is trying to project Sharad Pawar as a Presidential candidate of the opposition parties.
According to latest reports, Prashant has also come in touch with Telangana Rashtra Samithi leadership and expressed his readiness to work for the party in 2023 assembly elections.
He reportedly held talks with TRS working president and minister K T Rama Rao.
Though TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao initially was not very keen on engaging political strategist, his children – KTR and Kavitha reportedly convinced him to engage Prashant in order to curtail the BJP’s growth in the state.
It remains to be seen how things work out in the coming days.
