Even as Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu continued to play the double game on the State bifurcation issue, his party leaders from Seemandhra are trying to put up a pose as if they are agitating for keeping the State united.
On Sunday, Seemandhra TDP leaders met President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapathi Nilayam in Bollaram and tried to prevail upon him to take back the Telangana bill.
However, the President gave them a dressing down for taking double standards on the bifurcation issue.
The TDP leaders brought to his notice that there were several lacunae in the bill.
However, after a patient hearing, the President has given them a dressing down to fall in line.
The Center has taken a final call on Telangana demand after prolonged consultations for years and having taken nod from all stakeholders and political parties, the President told the TD leaders.
Since this is the time for giving opinion in the Assembly they must cooperate being responsible opposition party, President said to have opined.
The TD Seemandhra leaders were told not to create hurdles and give their opinion as their party chief N Chandra Babu Naidu given a letter in favor of Telangana.
