It is a little surprising that the power cuts have begun in Andhra Pradesh. A newspaper that is against the ruling TDP has written a story according to which there is an unofficial cut of two hours in villages and one hour in mandals.
Meanwhile, a pro daily has carried a story saying that power cuts will begin within two days. Now, whoever is true, it is clear that the people will have to gear up for the current cuts.
Earlier, the Central government had identified Andhra Pradesh as one of the states where uninterrupted power supply would be provided. In fact, Telugu Desam Party had spread stories that they managed to achieve a state with no power cuts within three months. They attributed the success to TDP and Chandra Babu’s capability.
But no one is sure as to why this problem has cropped up once again. It is being said that the slow progress of Krishnapatnam Project is one of the reasons behind this present situation.
Once the Krishnapatnam Project becomes operational, AP is likely to have sufficient reserves of power.
