Congress MP from Karimnagar Ponnam Prabhakar on Tuesday sent a book of Indian Constitution to YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy asking the latter to read it and know about how a State could be divided as per Article 3 of the Constitution.
Ponnam told media that he had already sent a copy of Constitution to Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu for reading it and digest the facts.
Apart from firing salvos at Jagan and Naidu, the Karimnagar MP also lashed out at Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for his controversial functioning as Seemandhra chief minister.
He also reminded the YSRCP president about his earlier statements that he had respect for the Telangana sentiment and the Centre could go ahead with formation of Telangana State as per Article 3 of the Constitution.
Ponnam said both the TDP and YSRCP chiefs should have told the Centre that they were opposed to separate Telangana State like the CPI-M. He criticized the duo for taking a U turn on Telangana for the sake of votes and seats. He pointed out that both delivered speeches in favour of Telangana during their tours of the region.
