Even as the Seemandhra leaders, led by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy have been firmly opposing the division of Andhra Pradesh, the Congress-led UPA government struck to its word by including the Telangana bill in the agenda for the union Cabinet meeting scheduled on Thursday.
At the same time, Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has decided to make a detailed statement in Lok Sabha on Thursday explaining the reasons why the Congress party had taken a decision to divide Andhra Pradesh to carve out Telangana State.
He would assure that no injustice would be done to Seemandhra region and that it would get the best possible package to develop into an independent State.
He would also appeal to the Seemandhra MPs to cooperate with the UPA in fulfilling its commitment made long ago.
According to sources, the Telangana Bill is most likely to be sent to President of India Pranab Mukherjee on February 7 for his approval. Later, it will be first tabled in Rajya Sabha on February 10.
The same will be tabled in Lok Sabha on February 13, sources said.
