It is more or less confirmed that popular political strategist and founder of Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) Prashant Kishor is being engaged by Telugu Desam Party headed by former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu for the upcoming assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.
According to highly placed sources, the deal between Prashant Kishor and the TDP was struck when party general secretary Nara Lokesh was in Delhi for several weeks when his father Naidu was in Rajahmundry central jail in connection with the skill development scam.
After a lot of negotiations, Prashant Kishor has agreed to assist Showtime Consulting, the political strategy group headed by his erstwhile colleague in I-PAC Robbin Sharma.
Sources said the TDP has paid an advance remuneration of Rs 50 crore for Kishor and agreed to pay another Rs 25 crore at the time of elections. After the TDP wins the elections, he would be paid another Rs 50 crore.
So, the total package Prashant would be getting from the TDP is around Rs 125 crore. This is just for giving advices to Naidu and his team from time to time and suggesting the blueprint for the party’s victory in the elections.
Apparently, Naidu developed a lot of confidence in Prashant Kishor’s strategies.
“Since the TDP chief doesn’t want to take any chances of winning the elections, he has engaged Prashant Kishor,” sources said.
Kishor reportedly agreed to help out Robbin Sharma team in working out more innovative programmes to take the party campaign deep into the people, including activation of the social media campaign and selection of right candidates, in coordination with Jana Sena Party.
