Pradesh Congress Committee on Tuesday submitted two reports to the Group of Ministers (GoM), one in favour of Telangana and the other against it, contrary to the stance taken by the Congress Working Committee on July 30.
PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana mailed two separate reports to the GoM, though he was expected to forward the party’s single point of view on the contentious issue of bifurcation of the State.
He told media that he had forwarded two reports, as the State Congress leaders were vertically split on the issue of bifurcation.
When pointed out that by sending two reports the State Congress was acting contrary to the stance taken by the party’s central leadership, Botsa asserted that it was the State Congress party which had submitted its reports with clarity pertaining to the views expressed by the leaders of both the regions.
“You can assume whatever you want. The final call will be taken by the high command,” he said.
