There have been reports recently that Chandra Babu is keen on wrapping up the issue of the new capital city at the earliest. So, the latest comment by BJP senior leader Somu Veerraju has caught the attention of all.
The seasoned politician who is counted among the close aides of Pawan Kalyan and who is said to have played a key role in facilitating the deal between Power Star and the BJP prior to the polls, says the new capital city of Andhra Pradesh will require between 500 to 1000 acres of land.
He opined that pushing up real estate prices and promoting realty business in the name of developing a new capital is not appropriate.
He said he was also against the government buying land huge tracts of land from private parties.
He warned that the government must refrain from giving a thrust to the real estate industry which would result in pushing the prices of land and hoarding of land by a few parties.
Veerraju said that about 500 to 1000 acres are enough for the new capital city. Given his connections within the party, many are wondering if these are his personal views or if he is mouthing the opinions of BJP bosses.
It is interesting to note that while Chandra Babu Naidu wants to develop a city on the lines of Singapore, TDP’s friendly party leader Veerraju has expressed these opinions.
