Power star and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan has taken a strong vow that he would not allow Telugu Desam Party general secretary and Andhra Pradesh IT minister Nara Lokesh to become the chief minister of the state under any circumstances.
He was reacting to reports that TDP president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu was contemplating contesting the Lok Sabha elections in 2019 so as to play a role in the national politics, while leaving the field in the state to his son Lokesh.
“This is ridiculous. How can a person, who cannot even become an MLA and entered the cabinet through backdoor methods by getting nominated as an MLC, can aspire to become the chief minister? We shall not allow that. Let him contest the direct elections from any assembly constituency in the state. We will put up a candidate against him and see that he is defeated,” Pawan said.
The Jana Sena leader reacted strongly to the recent comments made by Lokesh that he is not fit for politics.
“Let Lokesh, or his father Naidu or even YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy to come together for a debate on any political issue. I will come alone and can argue with them. I entered politics only after gaining sufficient knowledge on all the issues concerning the state,” Pawan said.
