The Jana Sena Party is gearing up for hosting the three-day plenary of the party at Pithapuram in Kakinada district from March 12 to 14 on the occasion of its 11th year of foundation.
Pithampuram constituency in the state is represented by party president and Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan.
The party leaders are scouting for a suitable location to conduct the grand event – at Chebrolu, where Pawan Kalyan purchased a piece of land, besides Gollaprolu and Chitrada.
This is for the first time that the Jana Sena Party is conducting its three-day plenary on such a grand scale.
And all eyes are on Pawan Kalyan, who is expected to announce a roadmap for the party in the coming years.
At the core committee meeting of the party held a couple of days ago, under the leadership of Jana Sena Political Affairs Committee chairman and minister for civil supplies Nadendla Manohar, the party discussed various resolutions to be adopted by the party at the plenary.
Manohar said, "On March 14, 2014, Pawan Kalyan established the Jana Sena Party with a broad vision and commitment to public welfare. Despite numerous challenges, the party has stood strong. Today, Jana Sena's role has been crucial in forming the coalition government."
He said the plenary will outline how the party's principles and Pawan Kalyan's vision have reached the people and will provide direction for the way forward.
He said suggestions and advices would be gathered from party leaders and intellectuals, with various committees appointed to oversee the plenary session.
Sources said Pawan Kalyan would give a new direction to the party for the coming years. He might even speak about emergence of Jana Sena Party as an independent political force in Andhra Pradesh in the coming days.
It will be interesting to see what he will speak in his inaugural and concluding speeches and what resolutions the party would adopt at the plenary.
