A fortnight ago, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan visited Delhi. He was in the national capital for two days, meeting with BJP leaders.
Everyone thought, and even the Jana Sena leaders said, that the visit was to bring the TDP into an alliance with the BJP and Jana Sena.
During the visit, he tried to meet with Home Minister Amit Shah, but things did not work in his favor as Shah was busy with preparations for the Karnataka Assembly elections.
However, after a fortnight, another version of his visit to Delhi started doing rounds in social media and political circles in Andhra Pradesh.
It is said that Pawan Kalyan had gone to Delhi to lobby for the Eenadu group chairman, Cherukuri Ramoji Rao.
Ramoji Rao is in neck-deep trouble with the AP CID exposing the financial fraud committed by Margadarsi Chit Fund Private Limited, which is also headed by Ramoji Rao and managed by his daughter-in-law Sailaja Kiran.
It is alleged that Ramoji Rao had diverted the money collected from people through chits and used it for his investments in various companies and activities, including films and media.
As the CID is not leaving him and is framing charges to arrest him, Ramoji Rao is said to have sent Pawan Kalyan to lobby for him with Shah.
Shah was said to have a soft corner towards Ramoji Rao, but the fact is that Shah was upset with Ramoji for not sparing the BJP in the two Telugu states.
Perhaps because of this, Shah is said to have not given an audience to Pawan Kalyan in Delhi, to the misfortune of both Ramoji Rao and Pawan Kalyan.
