Many people expected a close fight between the TDP and YSRCP in Seemandhra. There were even predictions of a hung like situation. But ultimately, though Jagan did put in a decent performance, Naidu managed to get a comfortable majority. And the deciding factor is Pawan Kalyan.
Pawan’s last minute entry and support for the TDP swung the ‘Kapu Vote bank’ which comprises the majority in the state, in favor of TDP, especially in the Godavari districts.
The Pawan factor clearly made a difference in at least 20 to 25 assembly constituencies among the youth, who were previously in favor of Jagan.
This is the first time that ‘Kapus’ who are normally at loggerheads with the Kammas have voted for the latter and the credit goes to Chandrababu Naidu who played his cards right by roping in Pawan Kalyan as the trump card.
