Actor-turned-Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan seems to be under the impression that the Left parties would fetch him a lot of political mileage in the coming elections in Andhra Pradesh.
That could be the reason for the Jana Sena chief declaring that he would not have any understanding with any political party other than the Left parties.
Within no time, senior Communist Party of India (CPI) leader K Narayana came out with a statement that CPI, CPM and Jana Sena Party would contest together in the coming AP assembly elections.
Political observers say if Pawan has to do serious politics, he has to be wary of these Communist parties since they are the most opportunistic parties in the country.
Except BJP, these Left parties tend to align with any other party that suits their political interests.
In Andhra Pradesh, the CPI and CPI (M) sailed with the Congress party for a long time in the past. Later, they joined hands with the Telugu Desam Party.
In 2009 assembly elections, they even joined hands with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. Subsequently, they appeared to be tilting towards YSR Congress party.
In the recent assembly elections in Telangana, the CPI joined hands with the Congress and the TDP, besides Telangana Jana Samithi, to form a grand alliance.
It was same Narayana who is now claiming to be supporting Jana Sena, who had rubbed shoulders with TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu during the campaign in Telangana.
And now, Narayana changed his tune and is attacking Naidu. He alleged that Naidu was trying to cosy up to Pawan Kalyan as he is afraid that the TDP would lose the elections.
As far as CPI (M) is concerned, it indirectly helped the TRS in the recent elections by splitting anti-establishment votes through its Bahujan Left Front. What is worse, its national secretary Sitaram Yechury is backing the anti-BJP front proposed by Chandrababu Naidu!
So, if Pawan believes the Left parties are sincere and they would come to his rescue, he would only face the doom in the elections!
