It looks like power star and Jana Sena Party president Pavan Kalyan is getting ready to contest the next assembly elections from West Godavari in Andhra Pradesh.
According to sources, Pavan is most likely to contest from Eluru constituency. It was evident on Monday, when the Jana Sena Party issued a statement saying that Pavan has decided to register himself as a voter in Eluru.
He instructed his party leaders in West Godavari to take steps for transferring his name from the voters’ list in Hyderabad to Eluru.
This has given rise to speculation that Pavan might contest from Eluru, though registering as voter in Andhra Pradesh would mean he can contest from anywhere in the state.
He has a huge fan following in East and West Godavari districts and if he contests, he can turn the entire Kapu community to his side.
It is not yet clear as to whether the Jana Sena would be an ally to the TDP-BJP combine or contest elections independently.
In any case, Pavan’s entry into AP politics is believed to hit the vote bank of YSR Congress party more than the TDP-BJP combine.
