Art has no barriers. In fact, MF Hussain painted walls and wrote jingles for Coca Cola before hitting big time.
But if one looks at the list of people recommended for Padmasri by Telangana government, one wonders if the title has become so cheap.
The list has names of signboard artists and people who do film logos. It is indeed surprising that the list includes names of people who are totally unknown.
However, if one takes a closer look, it is quite obvious that the list predominantly comprises names of people who had made logos for TRS and written revolutionary songs for Telangana movement. And if that is taken as the primary criterion, then it can be said that the T government is indeed taking very good care of its artists.
Well, there are some who argue that KCR is better off as Babu would include anyone and everyone who belongs to his community at the cost of others. In the process, we hope the award retains its dignity and stature!
