Popular Tollywood hero N T Rama Rao and his actor-producer brother Nandamuri Kalyan Ram have extended their support to their sister Nandamuri Suhasini who filed her nominations as a Telugu Desam Party candidate from Kukatpalli constituency in the ongoing assembly elections in Telangana.
Both the actors, sons of former MP and TDP politburo member late Nandamuri Harikrishna, wished all the best to Suhasini through their twitter messages and also a statement made in Telugu.
“Wishing my sister Suhasini garu all the very best, as she takes her first step into public service,” NTR said.
Harikrishna, who died in a road accident on August 29 at Nalgonda this year, had been feeling neglected in the TDP when he was alive and his both the sons were also keeping away from the TDP activities.
Junior NTR, who campaigned for the TDP in 2009 assembly elections, was sidelined in the party after the party lost the polls.
In the statement, NTR and Kalyan Ram, were careful in avoiding the name of present TDP president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who had allegedly back-stabbed their grandfather and TDP founder N T Rama Rao and sidelined Harikrishna.
However, they said they would treat the TDP, founded by NTR with the noble theme of “society is the temple and people are gods,” as the most sacred institution.
“Our sister is contesting the Telangana assembly elections from Kukatpally on behalf of the TDP for which our father Harikrishna had rendered yeoman services.
“We belong to the family, which strongly believes that women should play a very high role in the society.
“We wish a grand victory to our sister Suhasini, who is fighting the elections drawing inspiration from this noble thought,” they said, signing off the statement with the slogans: Jai NTR, Johar Harikrishna.
