Now, Partition In Secretariat!

Even as two State Governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have fully taken charge of their respective offices, the Secretariat, the seat of highest administration is also vertifically divided, as if it is a partition of India.

Barricades came up overnight in the midst of Secretariat separating J, K, L and H blocks allocated for AP are located on the front side, while that of Telangana including A,B, C and D are at rear side behind Nalla Pochamma temple. A large number of security personnel, including Central Forces are manning the Secretariat on both sides.

According to sources, the barricades were put up on Friday night as directed by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao.

He is understood to have asked the officials to do so as he found it difficult to make it to his “ C “ Block when his AP counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu made it to the premises as CM and addressed the employees a few days ago.

By then KCR found the entire premises packed to capacity as many ministers, leaders of TDP and followers besides Secretariat staff gathered to see the new Chief Minister, Naidu who took charge at his L Block office.

Taking a cue from CM, the officials decided to separate the vehicles and blocks by erecting barricades, a staff member felt. Also there was an altercation between staff and policemen on that day.

Employees, who entered the premises on Saturday morning, found it very difficult to reach their offices as they cannot cross the barricades.

With this, there is no free movement of employees and others, who cannot get even a cup of tea and snacks on Telangana premises. Besides, officials, staff and media persons find it difficult to make it to canteen existing on AP premises of Secretariat.
