Taking a cue from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana chief ministers N Chandrababu Naidu and K Chandrasekhar Rao respectively, who buried the hatchet and became thick friends, it is now the turn of their officials to join hands and display a lot of bonhomie.
On Tuesday, Chief Secretaries of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana I Y R Krishna Rao and Rajiv Sharma respectively met in the Telangana Secretariat and discussed certain contentious issues between both the States, including those pertaining to Dr B R Ambedkar Open University and Telugu University.
The Chief Secretaries have decided to sort out the issues of Telugu University and Dr B.R. Ambedkar Open University.
The Telangana Chief Secretary agreed to start study centers in the Andhra area immediately and the AP Chief Secretary has agreed to pay the charges as decided by both Finance Secretaries.
The issue of payment of pending arrears to APGENCO was also discussed in the meeting. Telangana State Chief Secretary promised to pay at Rs 150 crore per month.
Both the sides decided to sit together and reconcile the remaining amount with reference to which there is a dispute. The current demands would be made up to date from this month onwards.
