Even as there was a strong criticism for construction of temple for former Chief Minister late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, the Telangana Congress leaders are now planning to construct a temple for AICC president Sonia Gandhi in Hyderabad.
Former minister and Secunderabad Cantonment MLA P Shankar Rao on Tuesday announced that he would build a temple for Sonia Gandhi in his constituency for announcing Telangana State.
He also called upon all the legislators in the Telangana region to build temples for Sonia Gandhi in their constituencies for her gesture.
He further announced that he would install a statue of Sonia Gandhi in Secunderabad on December 9 this year to perpetuate her name in the history for conceding the demand of the Telangana region.
Perhaps, Shankar Rao thought he is giving a fitting tribute to Sonia as a retort to Seemandhra leaders who constructed “Samadhis” for her in some parts of Andhra.
