On the one hand, Venkayya Naidu and Chandrababu Naidu keep praising one another other and coming to one another’s rescue when there is adverse opinion written against them.
On the other hand, the AP BJP leaders such as Purandeswari, Kanna and Kavuri are making statements against the TDP on a regular basis.
They would not make such statements without approval from the BJP High Command. This gives rise to the suspicion that the BJP top leadership in fact does not approve of Naidu’s bonhomie with Naidu.
Venkayya Naidu’s skills as an orator are being made use of to counter the opposition in Parliament and the media. But when it comes to AP, clearly, the BJP does not approve of the support to Chandrababu given by Venkayya.
While Venkayya may support Naidu along casteist lines, it is rumored that Modi himself does not believe in the honesty of the Naidu administration thanks to the allegations of massive corruption surrounding Amaravathi, Godavari Pushkarams and Pattiseema apart from Naidu spending lavishly for trivial events and then going to the Center with a begging bowl.
