No Time For New Parties Now!

With the Election Commission announcing the schedule for general elections for Lok Sabha and the State Assembly, there is little scope for new political parties to enter the poll fray at this stage.

Most importantly, the fate of political party proposed to be launched by former Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy hangs in balance.

According to analysts, there is no use of Kiran launching the political party at this juncture as he has a very little time.

He has to register his party first; or even if he takes over an already registered party, he has to set up an organizational structure across the State.

He has to mobilise resources – financial as well as people – to field candidates in the entire State. So, it is doubtful whether he will be floating a new party now and even if he does, he has to field candidates only as independents.

So is the case with actor Pavan Kalyan. He cannot float a new party now; at the most, he can test his fortunes by joining a suitable party.
