Of course, it is nothing new, but once again talk in political circles is that Telangana TDP is in dire straits.
Given that the TDP head Chandra Babu has decided to hold Mahanadu in Hyderabad, the story has once again gained prominence. Of the 119 constituencies in Telangana, it is being said that there are no party in-charges for nearly 70 constituencies.
In particular, the situation in north Telangana is said to be really bad. While there are 19 constituencies in Adilabad and Nizamabad, of them the party is said to have in-charges only in Aarmoor, Kamareddy and Khanapur constituencies.
And in Nalgonda district, out of the 12 constituencies, there are in-charges only in four places including Devarakonda, Bhuvanagiri, Kodada, Huzoor Nagar.
According to party sources in Karimnagar, Khammam and Warangal, getting people to replace the older members has become a huge task. Though the party has won some seats in Hyderabad and Rangareddy, the situation is bleak even there say party members.
Given the fact that the TRS has attracted many TDP leaders and the fact that the existing members are not capable of attracting new cadre and infusing life into the party, the situation has become really bad for Telangana TDP say the few who still remain with the party in Telangana.
