Power star and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan is still new to politics. He seems to have forgotten the fact that every move of his will be watched keenly by the people and his meetings with leaders of other political parties, casually or otherwise, will lead to a lot of speculations.
The other day, former YSR Congress party MP from Chittoor V Varaprasada Rao said he had met Pawan Kalyan and the latter had offered to support the YSRC in the next elections.
And on Friday, Pawan Kalyan happened to meet Telugu Desam Party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu at a temple in Guntur and that led to speculations that both had a secret discussion.
On both the occasions, the YSRC or the TDP had nothing to lose, but the credibility of Pawan Kalyan was at stake and people would definitely suspect his motives.
That is precisely why Pawan had to give a clarification, albeit indirectly, on Twitter.
“I request certain individuals I respect from YSRCP and TDP not to misinterpret my courtesy and my general enquiry about their leaders’ well-being when we meet in public occasions. Most of the leaders I meet or greet know me well because of our previous political journey,” he clarified.
He further said he always saw political conflicts as policy based but never personal.
“Lacking this, both YSRCP and TDP didn’t let the legislative assembly sessions function properly. You can still debate, confront and disagree and be courteous,” he pointed out.
