No need for any fears on Telangana

AICC General Secretary in charge of party affairs in AP Digvijay Singh on Friday asserted that there was no need for any apprehensions over the formation of Telangana state before 2014.

He told media that the UPA Government would take all required measures to safeguard the interests of the people of Seemandhra in the wake of bifurcation of the state.

He hailed and appreciated the decision of the APNGOs for calling off their 66-day old strike in support of keeping the state united.

Digvijay Singh reiterated that there was no need for any apprehensions or concerns over the decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh as the central government would ensure that the interests and welfare of Seemandhra people were protected.

It was the responsibility of the UPA to bring to the notice of the Group of Ministers (GoM) about the demands of the people, including that of the ASPNGOs, for initiating appropriate remedial measures, he observed.
