No extension of time for T-debate?

If the reports coming from New Delhi are to be believed, President Pranab Mukherjee is not in a mood to extend time to continue debate on Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Bill 2013,  whose deadline ends on Thursday.

According to sources, the President has refused to act on the request made by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and a majority of Seemandhra leaders for extension of time for conclusion of debate by four weeks, as the request has not come from the State Assembly but from the government.

The President can consider the request only if it comes from the Speaker based on the decision taken at the Business Advisory Committee.

The President was also upset with Kiran and Seemandhra leaders for failing to make use of six weeks of time given for the debate.

With no information coming from Rashtrapathi Bhavan, the Chief Minister began his concluding speech on the bifurcation issue in the Assembly, indicating that the debate will come to an end on Thursday.
