No bail to ex-MP: Jagan slams legal team

No bail to ex-MP: Jagan slams legal team

YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has a peculiar nature, according to leaders who observed him in close quarters – that if he considers any person close to his heart, he will go to any extent to defend that person and stands by him at any cost.

Former minister Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad told in a television interview that if Jagan considers a person as his close confident, he will excuse that person even if the latter commits a murder.

“If I tell Jagan that the person had committed a murder, he would take it easy and says: it just a single murder. Let me see, if he commits 10 murders. That is Jagan’s nature,” Dokka said.

So, when his party leader Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy was imprisoned in connection with the destruction of EVM at Macherla during the recent elections, he mobilised his entire legal team to fight for him and ensured that Pinnelli was out of jail on bail.

Similarly, when his party leaders – Devineni Avinash and Jogi Ramesh – were facing arrest in connection with the attack on the Telugu Desam Party office at Mangalagiri three years ago, Jagan arranged strong legal team and went up to the Supreme Court to secure them bail.

However, former Bapatla MP Nandigam Suresh, who was arrested in connection with the same case, could not get the bail and he has still been languishing in Guntur jail. He was even given the police custody, in which he was interrogated by the police.

This has angered Jagan. According to sources, he reportedly called his legal team and pulled them up for failing to secure bail to Nandigam Suresh.

“What the hell are you doing? Why didn’t Suresh get bail? Where is the mistake?” he reportedly asked.

He said if the party’s legal team threw up its hands, he would engage senior lawyers from Supreme Court to fight the case of Suresh. He asked them to work out the strategy to see that Suresh comes out of jail at the earliest.

That is Jagan!
