Will the new year herald two states in Andhra Pradesh?
According to the calculations made by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrasekhar Rao, the process of bifurcation will be completed by the end of this year and the new year will see two states-- Telangana and Andhra Pradesh-- coming into effect.
KCR is confidant that no force can now reverse or even slow down the process of division.
Despite the intense pressure from more influential Seemandhra lobby of businessmen and politician, the Congress central leadership, particularly the party president Sonia Gandhi, stood the ground and set the official process of bifurcation in motion, he told his close confidants.
Even after the Congress Working Committee's announcement on formation of separate Telangana state on July 30, the TRS Chief had asked his party leaders and cadre to keep the celebrations on hold till the constitutional process from the government side commences.
Now that the first step in this process has been taken by the central cabinet and an announcement has also been made on constitution of Group of Ministers (GoM), KCR now has a reason to cheer about.
As per his calculations, the bill on Telangana state formation will get the approval of the Parliament in the last week of November of first week of December.
After Presidential assent to the bill, a formal notification will be issued, creating Telangana, the 29th state of India.
"I am totally confidant that the new year will herald the fulfillment of the dreams of Telangana people. Two states will be in place by the beginning of the new year," KCR said.
