Every news channel owes allegiance to one political party or the other. But sometimes, when these news channels make comments directly on their opponents, they are risking defamation cases and loss of credibility.
Therefore, the majority of channels, primarily the yellow media have come up with a stratagem to throw mud on their opponents and still not be liable for any legal action.
They are paying monthly allowances to a few key members handpicked by them, inviting them on their channels’ shows and making these people utter the words which the channels want.
Be it a lady who is speaking out in recent times against exploitation, a critic who targeted a leading actor-turned-politician or a small-time actor who pretended to be neutral and was vocal about SCS but is only a stooge of the TDP, all these people are rumored to be on the payroll of these channels.
Thus, indirectly, through these people, the channels are furthering their agenda.
