Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Sathyanarayana on Monday did not rule out the possibility of floating of a new party by disgruntled Congress leaders.
Speaking to media, Botsa said that it was natural that some leaders were trying to launch a new party.
“There is no wonder if efforts are made to float a new party”, he said.
Without naming Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, the PCC chief alleged that some key leaders were not reacting on the issues but were trying to protect their own party image. He made it clear that both he and the Chief Minister have the responsibility of saving the party in the Seemandhra region.
Botsa, however, said the CWC decision on division of the state was binding on all the Congress party leaders. But, the Seemandhra Congress public representatives had every right to mount pressure on the centre on division issue by tendering resignations.
Meanwhile, Botsa is leaving for Delhi on October 1 and the Union Cabinet will meet on October 2.
