The Congress MP from Nandyal in Kurnool district, S P Y Reddy, is said to be preparing the ground to quit the party and join YSR Congress Party soon.
He has been among the leaders in the forefront of the fight against division of the state.
With the Congress high command going ahead with the constitutional process for creation of separate Telangana state, the elected representatives of Seemandhra are an unhappy lot.
Bowing to mounting public pressure from the people of his constituency, the Nandyal MP is believed to have made up his mind to call it quit and take a plunge into the Samaikyandhra movement.
It is said that he has been in regular touch with the YSRCP leadership.
His imminent exit will be a big blow to the Congress in Rayalaseema region.
Already, Nellore MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy and Anakapalli MP Sabbam Hari are with the YSRCP.
The buzz in the political circles is that many more elected representatives from Seemandhra are ready to jump the sinking Congress ship and sail with the YSRCP.
