Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday announced “Sankranthi Festival” bonanza of essential commodities free of cost to poor people of Andhra Pradesh.
During the last day of Assembly session here, the Chief Minister announced that the government has decided to distribute a packet of essentials to whitecard holders comprising a half kg Tur Dal, half liter edible oil, 1kg each Senagalu and Wheat flour, half kg jaggery and 100 gr ghee.
On account of this scheme, the AP government will bear Rs 287 crore for the purpose and each packet costs Rs 220, he said.
He also announced that poor will get 5kg rice per head in each family through ration shops in the State.
