It is an open secret that Telugu Desam Party and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has a penchant for publicity.
He does not let go any opportunity to garner publicity on every single issue.
Having been aware of his craze for publicity, his media managers are also trying to get him extensive publicity in the media, but at times, their over-enthusiasm is causing a lot of embarrassment to the chief minister.
We have seen how the Information and Public Relations department has goofed up with the advertisement on Anna Canteens by using a picture that actually belongs to YSR Canteens launched by YSR Congress party MLA from Mangalagiri Alla Ramakrishna Reddy. The media managers had to cut a sorry figure before Naidu.
But they do not seem to have learnt any lessons. On Tuesday, the PR team of Naidu came out with a press release stating that a study made by the Australian government had showered praises on Naidu for being the only chief minister in India who has been actively pursuing the reforms agenda and is creating industries-friendly atmosphere in the state.
Inquiries revealed that first of all the study was not done by the Australian government but by a University in Australia.
Secondly, it did not mention only Naidu’s name, but other chief ministers as well including Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, who the report said had achieved tremendous economic growth in their respective states.
Thirdly, the report also made some critical comments against the disappointment faced by several industries who came forward to invest in AP because of bureaucratic hurdles.
So, Naidu’s PR team ignored all this and made a false claim!
