Opposition Leader in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council C Ramachandraiah, who was once a close confidant of Chief Minister and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, on Friday accused the latter of raking up a controversy over the location of new Capital.
Participating in a discussion on the issue in the council, Ramachandraiah charged that the Chief Minister had taken a hasty decision on the new capital.
“What has prompted Naidu to take such a decision without giving a chance to opposition parties to express their opinion,” he asked.
He alleged that the ruling party was just ignoring the plight of people who are seeking capital city in Rayalaseema. Injustice was being meted out to the Seema people. Such decisions without a discussion will lead to pandemonium, he warned and said Chandrababu Naidu owed an explanation to Rayalaeseema.
Ramachandraiah found fault with the government for taking a political decision in this regard. He suggested to the Chief Minister take some initiative to pacify the people of the region who are on a warpath.
“The government cannot resort to take a decision which causes loss to other region,” Ramachandraiah said.
