Naidu's attempt to break out of NTR's shadow!

Naidu's attempt to break out of NTR's shadow!

Perhaps for the first time in his tenure as CM, Chandrababu Naidu is experimenting with a government program in his name.

Hitherto, all TDP activities by default used to carry NTR’s name. The State finance Department through a ‘GO’ has released Rs 286 crore for ‘Chandranna Sankranthi Pathakam’.

As per this scheme, the government will give a gift pack which consists of six essential commodities to white ration card holders during the festival. Around 1.86 crore families in the ‘State’ are expected to benefit from this scheme.

More importantly, it indicates the urge of Naidu to assert his own identity on the TDP for some time now.

Naidu is caught in a strange situation where his community backs him as the CM and head of TDP but is strongly against diluting the legacy of its founder NTR, who gave them political birth.

But to be fair to Naidu, he has been shouldering the burden of the Party for a long time now and in the recent elections, people voted him to power on the basis of his track record and not NTR’s.

Also, the perpetuation of NTR’s legacy can become a stumbling block in future for the progress of his son, Lokesh.

Now, if any, is the best time for the ‘Nara’ family to come into its own!
