Naidu wooing GV Reddy back in TDP?

Naidu wooing GV Reddy back in TDP?

If the reports doing rounds in the Telugu Desam Party circles are to be believed, party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is trying to bring back young leader G V Reddy into the party and offer him a good position.

GV Reddy, who was the national official spokesman of the party, resigned from the primary membership of the party and also the post of AP State Fibernet Ltd chairman, following a controversy over the alleged irregularities in the APSFL.

G.V. Reddy made critical comments in the media, accusing an IAS officer of failing to implement his directives.

The party leadership took these remarks seriously, viewing them as damaging to the government’s image.

Apparently, Naidu called him and reprimanded him for speaking publicly about internal matters instead of addressing them through internal discussions, forcing him to resign from the APSFL post and it was accepted within minutes.

However, GV Reddy’s resignation evoked strong protests from the party cadres, who opposed Naidu for ill-treating him.

Thousands of social media posts emerged in support of GV Reddy, with party workers urging the leadership not to lose such a committed leader.

Many claimed that Reddy resigned out of self-respect and demanded his reinstatement.

Some party workers argued that TDP leaders should re-evaluate their decision, considering Reddy’s unwavering commitment even when the party was out of power.

According to reports, both Naidu and Lokesh realised the damage Reddy’s resignation caused to the party and are now said to be reconsidering their decision.

It is learnt they have decided to change their stand and may offer him another prominent position.

Senior leaders are said to be in contact with Reddy, urging him to remain active in the party.

There is growing speculation that Reddy might be offered a key position, possibly an MLC seat, to retain him within the party.
