Naidu Will Not Let Go Of BJP

Even if the BJP wants to let go of the TDP, Chandrababu Naidu will not let go of the BJP. A shrewd person at sizing up the ground realities, Naidu can say one thing in AP, another thing in Telangana and yet another thing in Delhi and retain goodwill everywhere.

The recent thumping victory of the BJP in Uttar Pradesh has pretty much made it clear that the saffron Party is all set for another mandate in 2019.

Understanding this quickly, Naidu made the statement soon after the BJP victory that ‘Narendra Modi is the Baahubali of India’. This clearly reveals a pattern from both the Naidus when the chips are down.

When there was a danger of Venkayya Naidu not being renominated to the Rajya Sabha as sending him to the Rajya Sabha for a fourth time was in contravention of Party rules, Venkayya immediately undertook a sycophantic exercise labeling Modi as ‘Modifier of Developing India’ and attributing other choicy epithets to him which ensured a renomination.

Chandrababu is doing the same but justifies his alliance with the BJP on the pretext that the State needs all possible support from the Centre at this juncture to tide over the bifurcation blues.

Truth be told, Chandrababu is least concerned with either the plight of Andhra Pradesh or its development. He was well prepared for bifurcation and had prepared the sketch of ‘Amaravati’ much before bifurcation.

When the decision to give ‘Telangana’ was announced, Naidu was absent and the first statement he made was not to condemn the decision but to ask for a package of Rs 5 lakh crore for constructing a new capital. Is this not an indication of where his leanings lay? KTR, son of KCR once made an observation on both the late YSR and Chandrababu.

According to KCR, both YSR and Naidu are birds of the same feather with the only difference being that while YSR bites a person to death, Naidu licks a person to death.

Well, the BJP apparently finds it disgusting as can be evidenced by the total lack of developmental funds to the State but Naidu is not one to let go.

His empathy towards the BJP is more out of fear that he would be implicated in some kind of a scam related to Amaravati rather than the development of the State. And as long as this state of affairs continues, it will be the people of Andhra who would suffer.
