Pressure is mounting on Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to promote his son Lokesh Naidu as his heir apparent and groom him into the Chief Ministerial stuff in the next three years.
No, the pressure is not from within the party, but from his own family. Though Naidu is not willing to give up his authority and delegate powers to Lokesh immediately, his wife Bhuvaneshwari, daughter-in-law Brahmani and even his brother-in-law Nandamuri Balakrishna want that Lokesh be taken into the state cabinet and given important portfolio.
Sources said Lokesh was often compared with K T Rama Rao, Telangana IT minister and son of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
“When KTR can wield powers in the state and is getting ready to replace his father, why can’t Lokesh? Give him a chance and he will prove his worth. The people will not be able to accept if there is a sudden transfer of power from Naidu to Lokesh, but they will if Lokesh gets adequate experience as a politician,” say sources.
Let us what Naidu will do in the coming days, because he does not believe people so easily, even if they are from his own family.
