Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday received flak from netizens on the social media for making false claims on the foundation of the party.
Speaking at the TDP 36th Foundation Day at the party headquarters in Guntur on Wednesday, Naidu claimed that he was responsible for the formation of the TDP.
He said it was he who had advised his father-in-law N T Rama Rao to float the new political party for protecting the self-respect of the Telugus.
“NTR followed my advice and launched the TDP as part of rebuilding the Telugu pride,” he said.
Everybody knows that Naidu was in the Congress party at that time and a minister in the Anjaiah cabinet.
People still remember how he used to criticise the TDP then and even challenged that he would contest against his own father-in-law and defeat him.
But within months of the TDP coming to power in 1983, Naidu shifted his loyalties to the TDP and gradually gained control over it.
Naturally, when he made such a tall claim about NTR, Naidu was trolled in the social media. The netizens are now ripping Naidu apart for such a blatant lie!
