Naidu trolled for 'Begumpet Airport' comment

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu seems to have gone virtually mad.

In his eagerness to claim credit for every developmental work in the country, the TDP president is going to extreme lengths, little realising that he is becoming a butt of ridicule.

The netizens are so fast that they do not lose much time in trolling him, even before he does any damage control.

On Friday, Naidu tweeted on the occasion of his party’s Mahanadu in Telangana region held at Exhibition Grounds in Hyderabad. As usual, he made tall claims about how he had built the modern Hyderabad.

“The TDP has made immense contribution for the development of modern Hyderabad. The city which was suffering from lack of sufficient drinking water has now grown into a metropolitan city and the TDP government had strived a lot for developing it,” he said.

In the same breath, Naidu went on to claim that it was during the TDP regime that the Begumpet airport, which is No. 1 in the country, was established.

“We also built hi-tech city for the sake of future generations,” he said.

Apparently, Naidu was referring to Shamshabad airport, which is now one of the top airports in the country.

Instead of Shamshabad, Naidu referred to Begumpet airport, which was established during the Nizam regime way back in 1930, which was developed into civilian airport by 1937.

Naturally, the TDP president came under attack from the netizens.

“Naidu was not even born when Begumpet airport was established. Does he think he was the Nizam in his previous birth?” asked one netizen.

Another wondered whether Nizam was Naidu’s close friend.

Though Naidu’s media team deleted the tweet within minutes, it did not take much time to go viral!
